Projects

Project description
This was Impact Safety’s third time facilitating Remote Confined Space Monitoring (RCSM) technology at Syncrude’s Mildred Lake location north of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Leading up to the event we were able to design, develop, test and approve a digital temperature monitoring solution between the fall and spring events. Additionally, we implemented loudspeakers at each external manway. Our adaptability and flexibility is an important aspect of Impact Safety’s operations and ongoing technology development.
The overall percentage of cost savings utilizing RCSM versus traditional confined space attendants for this project was 28.23%. Furthermore, we were able to reduce the risk exposure hours for personnel by 8,521 hours. Leading to cost benefits while increasing the overall safety.
As part of our commitment, we have doubled the size of our facility in Fort McMurray enabling us to provide more comprehensive training and expand our capacity to manage our local fleet of RCSM equipment. We look forward to the next project with Syncrude.
